I am a painter whose work explores abstracted landscapes shaped by memory, atmosphere and place. Award-winning work has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy.
I am a painter whose practice explores the shifting moods of land, sea, and sky. Since graduating with First Class Honours in Painting from Edinburgh College of Art in 2023, I have developed a body of work centred on abstracted landscape painting, shaped by atmosphere, light, and memory. I work primarily in oil and cold wax, alongside acrylic and pastel, using material and surface to evoke the sensory experience of place.
My installation Endangered Languages, which examined the fragility of culture and communication, was awarded both the New Contemporaries Award and the John Gillies Award, presented by the Royal Scottish Academy. This project continues to inform my practice, underpinning an ongoing interest in the vulnerability of both cultural and natural systems.
In 2023, I moved to Blairmore on the banks of Loch Long. Living within this landscape provides constant inspiration: shifting weather, changing light, and the movement of water all inform my work. My paintings are slightly abstracted, allowing forms to emerge and dissolve, inviting viewers to engage with the emotional resonance of landscape rather than a fixed representation.
My work has been exhibited in leading UK arts venues, including the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, and continues to evolve through a dialogue with the Scottish landscape and its layered histories.
