I explore the use of watercolour media to portray my images expressively.
I am delighted to be exhibiting alongside Soozie Turmeau’s beautiful jewellery.
I especially enjoyed doing a series of watercolours while sailing round The Inner Hebrides in August 2021. I am working to develop my technique with the use of some mixed media and to work on a larger scale without losing the feeling of spontaneity.
During previous years I have been more ambitious in my approach, at times using a more limited colour palette, as well as working on a larger scale. I am increasingly fascinated by atmospheric effects and enjoy trying to express these in my work.
I have become increasingly confident in a particular use of watercolour materials which allows me to work both in a loose or a very controlled manner.
I recently had a piece accepted for the 137th Annual Paisley Art Institute’s Exhibition to be held at The Glasgow Art Club, 25th April – 23rd May 2026.
I have also exhibited locally, for the last three years with the Makers Dozen in Innellan, held annually on March, as well as with The Innellan Old Pier Art Group’s annual exhibition and the Christmas exhibitions at Dunoon Borough Hall. In April 2025 I participated in the COS Members exhibition at The Barony in West Kilbride.
During December 2025 – January 2026, I participated in the Art Deco exhibition which took place in The Art Department, Paisley.
Currently I have work on display in The Ahoy Restaurant, Kirn, nr. Dunoon.
I have also undertaken a number of private commissions.
