I’m a quilter who combines traditional techniques like English Paper Piecing with modern, vibrant fabrics.
My work embraces the heritage of quilting while also challenging the idea that it’s solely a traditionalist domestic hobby. I want my quilts to be vibrant, tactile pieces of art—meant to be touched, wrapped around, and lived with. While they may look striking on a wall, they are made to be used and enjoyed as everyday objects of comfort and beauty.
A large part of my process involves hand stitching. It forces a slowing down—a deliberate investment of time and care. For me, hand stitching is meditative. In a world that often values speed and output, it encourages stillness, focus, and quiet. That slowness, that intentional presence, becomes part of the quilt itself. Every stitch is a mark of time and purpose.
I’m interested in the idea of taking a skill historically set in domesticity, and approaching it in a way that feels bold, joyful, and unapologetically modern. I want to honour the tradition while making space for new stories, new aesthetics, as well as embrace an ethos of repurposing and mending when we live in an increasingly disposable world.
