Watercolour artist of mainly botanical subjects,
After A levels I was accepted onto a college course to do art and textile design but life took me along a different path when instead, I joined the South Yorkshire Police. A move overseas and family life kept me so busy there never seemed to be enough time for artistic pursuits. In 2000 I returned to the UK and after sticking a pin in a map of Scotland, (my father’s birthplace), my children and I arrived in Cowal.
The 2020 lockdown allowed me the space to prioritise what was important to me. I rediscovered a passion for watercolours and found joy in painting botanical subjects. The process became a form of meditation and solace through the challenges of Covid and has become an important part of my life.
