More
Hi, my name is Gabor. I’m a UK based contemporary self-taught artist working in Abstract Art. I live and work in Scotland.
I had always tried to find a way to reflect my personal world, my thoughts ever since I can remember. A few years ago I have realised that the very best way to express myself and my feelings is through my paintings and my artworks. I feel lucky to have a passion that I really love.
I started drawing in my school years, my art and paintings are part of my soul and existence. I always wanted to do something with art, create artwork or just paint. Finally I bought my first blank canvas 10 years ago.
And the magic started!
My first paintings were acrylic based, and I used different mediums in my work (paper towel, pasta, paper collage, dried paint, bird food, etc.). I liked to try and experiment different painting styles and colour themes, to use multiple layers, rich textures, brushes and palette knife marks. My recent works are paper collages, where I tear and recycle magazines. I became a really a big fun of that!
In my home studio the time stops… There is nothing around, only the blank canvas and me. When I start putting the first paint on the canvas I feel energised and escaped at the same time. There is a connection between me and a blank canvas. Most of the time I do not really plan, just flow with my imagination and colours. I just let go off the brush and feel free to express myself with my spontaneous thoughts and ideas. I paint what I feel at that very moment. I’m relaxed and lost in my world of abstract experimentation.
I really love to express things which are coming straight from my soul, from my inner peace mixed with my thoughts. Things that are sometimes unspoken… When I create an artwork it is my personal interpretation. My inner world comes alive. The reason why I create art is to recreate the feeling of this journey and to discover every mysterious corner of my mind. Every time… It is like a drug…
When I finish with my piece it always takes me a few hours to calm down. I have to go back several times to see it and to keep the connection with my invisible world.
I strongly think that for an artist it is very important to stay unique and create original artwork that makes people think. I hope that people viewing my art can relate to them in their own personal way. I feel connected to every one of my paintings and I hope my true passion comes through in each of every piece I create.
Hope you will enjoy my page!
