visual works such as impressionistic paintings, drawings, photo, digital work, usually portraits or organic material.
My background is in poetry, multimedia art, and music, as well as politics. My multimedia work is intended to examine how meaning is created out of subject matter, whether it be through character, form, or perception, explored in the “other worlds” glitched films (and the stills from those films, as displayed here), especially, to create alternate, oft lush realities, where imagination runs rampant, and the result is the idea that spiritually, we are still free to create new narratives. When I spend a lot of time in the woods, I imagine how lands might have souls moving within them, but this is just the same world I am in- there is no difference, and yet, through envisioning the “spirit world”, one becomes connected to new ideas and potential truths. In a sense, one moves towards an “avant garde” in this way- by abandoning old traps and considering new technologies and methods, even if just through thought. In order to do so, one might confront the memory question, and build new narratives from there. I am interested in something beyond what one might think of, awe of the beyond.
