Recently developing my new direction of painting further, layering collage, oil pastels and inks. Large and small sea/landscapes and all in our new studio.
The new development in my working style using collage as well as inks and working on a much larger scale, continues to be an enthralling and ever changing journey. This year we have finally moved into our new purpose built studio in Hunter Street. Bonita Ellmore (Cedarbank Studios) and I, look forward to showing you our new work and the exciting space we now share.
I was born and educated in Edinburgh, I studied for a Diploma in drawing and painting at the Edinburgh College of Art and after a travelling scholarship, studied printmaking as a postgraduate. I worked full time teaching Art and Design in Edinburgh for thirty three years, whilst continuing to paint whenever possible.
I am a member of Royal Scottish Society for Painters in Watercolours. After a long association with the Cowal lasting over thirty years, I moved to Dunoon in 2014 and love living here.
My paintings and prints have often been realistic and inspired by the varied and colourful world around us. Since moving to live on the seas edge, I have been lured to paint the ever changing skies and waves outside my windows in a looser more expressionist style that I greatly enjoy.
