My paintings, often inspired by songs and poems, are also available as prints, plates and cards. This year I am sharing this great venue with Bonita Ellmore.
Born and educated in Edinburgh, I studied for a Diploma in drawing and painting at the Edinburgh College of Art and after a travelling scholarship, studied printmaking as a postgraduate. I worked full time teaching Art and Design in Edinburgh for thirty three years, whilst continuing to paint whenever possible.
I am a member of Royal Scottish Society for Watercolours where I am currently the Vice President for the West. After a long association with the Cowal lasting over thirty years, I moved to Dunoon in 2014 and love living here.
My paintings and prints can be realistic or imaginative, inspired by the real world or poems and song lyrics, but always centred around colour, composition and often humour. And since moving here, I am increasingly lured to paint the ever changing sea outside my studio window.
