This last year, moving to a larger studio, I have been working in a looser more flowing style, layering collage oil pastels and inks. An exciting new journey.
This last year has seen a development in my working style with a new approach using collage as well as inks and working on a much larger scale. It has been a very exciting development and I look forward to showing the results of this work in COS 2021.
I was born and educated in Edinburgh, I studied for a Diploma in drawing and painting at the Edinburgh College of Art and after a travelling scholarship, studied printmaking as a postgraduate. I worked full time teaching Art and Design in Edinburgh for thirty three years, whilst continuing to paint whenever possible.
I am a member of Royal Scottish Society for Painters in Watercolours. After a long association with the Cowal lasting over thirty years, I moved to Dunoon in 2014 and love living here.
My paintings and prints can be realistic or imaginative, inspired by the real world or poems and song lyrics, but always centred around colour, composition and often humour. And since moving here, I am increasingly lured to paint the ever changing sea outside my studio window.
