I work in mixed media, building up the image in layers using watercolour, inks and collage to create the atmosphere, moods and colours of the local area.
I studied Drawing and Painting at the Glasgow School of Art and after graduation have lived and worked in a number of different place across the country, and have run my own galleries and workshops wherever I have been.
Moving back to Scotland and settling in Ardentinny a few years ago, I feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful area. I love the wonderful skies and the soft light created by the watery atmosphere – in other words the rain!
I enjoy trying to capture the many colours, moods and textures of the Argyll landscape using watercolour together with a mix of other media including inks, oil pastels, graphite and collage.
I have exhibited widely in galleries, exhibitions and art fairs across the UK, including the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in London, the Paisley Art Institute and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in Edinburgh.
I was thrilled to become a member of the RSW in 2019.
