I paint in mixed media, building up the image in layers using watercolour, inks and collage to create the atmosphere, moods and colours of the local area.
I moved to Ardentinny a few years ago and feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful area. I love the wonderful skies and the soft light created by the ‘watery’ atmosphere – in other words ‘the rain’!
I enjoy trying to capture the many colours, moods and textures of the Argyll landscape using watercolour together with a mix of other media including inks, oil pastels, graphite and collage.
I have exhibited widely in galleries, exhibitions and art fairs across the UK, including the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in London, the Paisley Art Institute and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in Edinburgh.
I was thrilled to be accepted as a member of the RSW in October last year and also pleased to be awarded a residency at the Royal Drawing School, Dumfries House.
