My work uses traditional metal smything methods and upcycling
found and salvaged materials, to create unique mixed media wall hanging
artworks and jewelry.
My field is Mixed Media Sculpture & Jewelry. Each of my artworks, both in sculpture and jewelry, are one of a kind designs. I work in three artistic modes: Wearable art jewelry pieces, small sculptures, and larger wall hanging art pieces. To create and achieve the effects I envision I use many elements, combining upcycling found and salvaged materials. I use traditional metal smything methods, with a focus on lost wax casting and etching metals, to achieve highly textured surfaces.
I received a Masters in Fine Arts for Sculpture from the University of Florida in 1991
Previously to that, and to finance my education, I worked as a bench jeweler creating pieces with a focus on carving wax for Lost Wax Casting. Since receiving my M.F.A. I have been involved in many art exhibitions and teaching in College and Secondary levels.
